We’re very excited to inspire the next generation of young musicians. Catering for any ability, bespoke sessions are organised according to the needs and interests of the groups involved.
Our early years sessions encourage children to experience sound and rhythm up close at a very key stage in their development. Through listening and responding to rhythms, we look at how to link and develop ideas in a musical setting, using simple and engaging word association patterns.
The workshops focus on 4 key areas:
- Playing and Exploring
- Active Listening
- Critical Thinking and Creation
- Phonological Awareness
Primary Age Groups
The Primary age workshops are fun, engaging and welcoming for all abilities, and can also be tailored to aspects of National Curriculum whilst increasing cultural awareness and cohesion.
As well as introducing rhythmic concepts, we also look at compositional techniques such as:
We aim for each participant to leave our workshops knowing they’ve achieved a new skill, helping to motivate and boost their confidence in the future.
Secondary Age Groups
At this stage, expression and self-identity are key. Through exploring musical styles from around the world our Secondary workshops are tailored to the interests of each group, helping participants to engage and relate to the content on a personal level.
In addition to the areas shown above, we emphasise these key aspects:
- Cultural Awareness
- Celebrating Diversity
- Self Expression
A fantastic fresh take on academic musical areas, the sessions also offer students the opportunity to express their emotions through music, and experience the holistic benefits and release gained by drumming.
For those already studying music our vast experience allows us to delve into more in depth exploration of global rhythms.
